ABOUT THE SATURDAY GCSE MATHEMATICS BOOSTER CLASSES
- Academic progress: By focusing on key areas of the GCSE syllabus, such as common trouble topics and past exam questions, students are more likely to see measurable improvements in their grades. The individualised support, structured revision and immediate feedback help students to make academic progress faster
- Focused attention: With smaller group sizes, the booster course allows for more tailored support. This helps address specific problem areas and gaps in understanding that might not get enough attention in regular school lessons
- Boosts confidence for exams: Intensive booster sessions can significantly enhance students’ confidence by focusing on exam techniques, problem-solving skills, and time management. This leads to a greater sense of readiness and reduces exam anxiety
To address the recurring issues impacting children at their school and following feedback from existing parents, we planned our booster classes in line with the National Curriculum of England. The mathematics content is structured to ensure children understand the fundamental principles of mathematics before selecting and applying their knowledge to a range of different mathematical exercises.
As specialists in education and former secondary school teachers, we recognise that progress in mathematics is built on solid foundations. Therefore, we ensure children are confident with the fundamentals of mathematics before progressing to more challenging topics. We also play a crucial role in fostering the study skills necessary for children to become independent and confident leaders. These skills include:
- Time management
- Finding and using keywords
- Prioritising information and understanding exam questions

WHAT WE AIM IN THE BOOSTER MATHEMATICS PROGRAMME
We want children to interconnect the core areas of mathematics and apply their mathematical knowledge to solve problems accurately. Therefore, we aim children to:
- Develop a good foundation and understanding of mathematics
- Develop mathematical and logical reasoning to solve problems
- Develop resilience and independence when solving problems
- Develop a love for mathematics
WHAT IS COVERED IN OUR BOOSTER MATHEMATICS PROGRAMME
We focus on establishing a solid foundation and understanding on mathematics. Equally, we foster children to like mathematics and excel at a school level.
We cover the four core areas of mathematics in line with the national curriculum:
- Shape, space and measures
- Operations and calculations
- Numbers and algebra
- Handling information
Once children master the core areas of mathematics, we continue encouraging developing children’s further mathematical skills such as reasoning, problem-solving, decision making, interpreting data and logical thinking through regular practice and feedback.
