We reserve the right to use a humanoid robot (NAO robot V6) or a Quadruped dog for any of our bionic robotics camps. Children may work with either robot, or both, during the same week. JOINING INSTRUCTIONS
We send our joining instructions 48 hours before the first day of the camp (normally Saturdays by 5:00 pm). Please read and follow our instructions carefully, as they contain important information about our registration and dismissal procedures.
RATIO (Tutor: Child)
1:15 (minimum 5 children, maximum 15 children). We will offer you an alternative course if the course is fully booked, if the course does not open, or if, at any time during the camp, fewer than five children are enrolled until the end of the camp. Please do not place a booking unless you agree with our Terms & Conditions
LUNCH
Children must bring their packed lunch, snacks and enough water for the day.
GROUPS
Children are organised into groups by age and level of knowledge. We do our best to accommodate siblings and friends within the same group when requested.

ABOUT THIS CAMP
This face-to-face summer camp is designed for children to enjoy, have fun, and learn. Our face-to-face summer camp is delivered exclusively in small groups to allow more interaction, dialogue, and questions and answers between the tutor and the child. We motivate children to develop their understanding of computer science and specific coding languages while having fun. We also encourage children to be creative. We teach children how to identify a problem and find a solution.
WHAT WE TEACH
Introduction to humanoid robots, Hardware and Software, Sensors, Speech action, Motion Algorithms, Virtual world, Virtual vision, Infrared Sensors, Sonar Detection, Touch Sensors, Light Sensors, Directional Microphones and Speech Recognition, Artificial Intelligence, Circumnavigation, Assistive Robotics, Robot Learning, Machine Learning, Simulation and Reality, Human-Robot Collaboration, Event-based programming methodologies, WeBots, Standing, Walking and Sitting behaviours, Dance Project.
DIFFERENTIATION
At Richer Education, we understand that ‘one size does not fit all ‘. Therefore, our tutors and mentors differentiate the content of our sessions. We ensure that all children, regardless of their level of knowledge, are engaged at the appropriate level and pace.

WHAT IS A BIONIC ROBOT?
A bionic robot is a machine built, coded, and programmed to resemble animal or human movements and behaviour. Bionic robots may also have an overall appearance of an animal or human, such as a head, torso, legs and arms.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF ROBOTICS & PROGRAMMING?
Coding, artificial intelligence, robotics and programming are considered a basic but fundamental literacy skill within the digital age. Therefore, it is paramount for children to learn and understand how computer science works so they can understand how technology works and how it continually evolves around us.
THE IMPORTANCE OF DEVELOPING SKILLS IN COMPUTER SCIENCE
Computer science at schools is becoming a central concept in many academic institutions these days. Beyond the practical benefits of coding and programming for future careers, it also offers other benefits for children learning the process. Coding tends to positively impact children’s academic and non-academic performance. Several educational institutions now introduce coding in their curriculum, including universities. The world seems increasingly dependent on technology, and coding knowledge is an advantage in the professional world.
ABOUT NAO ROBOT (V6) AND QUADRUPED DOG
NAO and the quadruped dog are highly sophisticated bionic robots widely used in academic research, companies, and healthcare centres worldwide. The NAO and quadruped dog robots are widely known and are powerful programming tools for learning programming, robotics, coding, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. The NAO and quadruped dog are designed to interact and recognise objects and faces. The robots create a unique human-robot interaction experience. The robots are highly capable of autonomous movement, can interact with children, identify objects, and interact with their environment. Children can explore event-based configurations using the NAO and quadruped dog behaviour modules or create their own behaviours using Python for more complex scripts.
