Location: Online via Zoom. Please be ready five minutes before the start time.
Tutor-Child Ratio: 1:10 (strictly minimum 4 children, maximum 10 children). We will offer you an alternative course if the course is fully booked or if the course does not open.
Resources for the session: Children will need to have access to stationery, including pens or pencils and paper.
About this camp: This virtual camp has been designed for children to enjoy, have fun and learn. Our virtual summer camp are small to enable tutors and children greater scope for interaction, dialogue, questions and answers. We motivate children to develop their engineering and mathematical skills while having fun. We also stimulate children to be creative. We teach children to learn how to identify a problem and look for a solution. We also foster the development of resilience. Sometimes, some children tend to give up easily. We teach children that they need to try for alternate solutions to a given problem.
What we teach: Learn and consolidate fundamental mathematical principles and how mathematics also relates to real-life situations. We explore civil engineering, mechanical, engineering, railway engineering, structural engineering and other fields within engineering and its application in our day to day lives. We also motivate children to develop problem-solving skills, teamwork and resilience.
Topics include: Building with Bricks, Water Power, Electromagnet Engineering, Sound Engineering, Ecosystems and Energy Flow, Engineering Railways, Engineering Defences, Splendid Soil, Drawing and Surveying, Islands and Coasts, Engineering Rockets, Greener Energy, Mighty Materials, Engineering Ancient Greece, Automotive Engineering, Rolling Coasters, Timber Structures, Aeronautics, Rubbish and Recycling, Engineering Polymers.
