Brand new programme for all weeks in summer.

***PLEASE NOTE THAT TOPICS AND/OR THE ORDER OF THE TOPICS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE***

Monday 20 August: Robotics Racers

In the first half of this session, children will be introduced to the working principles of the Lego Mindstorms EV3 software and hardware. Children will then work in a group as they programme their robot to move in the quickest time possible.

Tuesday 21 August: The Imperial World

Children will also be transported back in time to over 50 years ago when the United Kingdom was using the Imperial system of measurement. Children will be introduced to the old £sd monetary system as well the previous ways of measuring distance and area.

Wednesday 22 August: Theme Park Engineering

Theme parks rely on knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering in order to design, build and create attractions such as rollercoasters. Your child will learn about the working principles behind theme park rides and will create model rides.

Thursday 23 August: Making Music

This day incorporates a variety of subjects from coding, science, engineering and electronics. Children will be designing and building circuits using buzzers to create pieces of music and will programme the circuit to make a sound.

Friday 24 August: The Science Hall of Fame

Our final session of the STEM Camp 2018 will honour the contributions from scientists across different eras. We will recreate famous experiments from the present era and from thousands of years ago.
