STEM is the acronym used for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
STEM education is based on the idea of educating children in four specific subjects in an interdisciplinary and applied approach. Rather than teaching the four disciplines on a separate basis, STEM integrates children into a more cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications of the subjects.
The emphasis is on fun, yet we inspire learning about concepts through dialogue and questioning.
Tuesday 3 April: Robotics Easter Challenge 2
This session will consolidate the features of the EV3 robot introduced from last week. Children will be introduced to the concept of kinematics and will participate in a number of different challenges both individually and as a team.
Wednesday 4 April: Easter Coding Camp 1
Children of all abilities are welcomed in this coding session. We will be using python to complete a variety of different tasks with an Easter twist.
Thursday 5 April: Historic Mathematics
We travel back in time in this session as we uncover how ancient civilisations used mathematics as part of their day-to-day existence.
Friday 6 April: War Structures
War structures will introduce to children the contribution that two world wars have had on the development of science and engineering.
