Product Description

STEM is the acronym used for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

STEM education is based on the idea of educating children in four specific subjects in an interdisciplinary and applied approach. Rather than teaching the four disciplines on a separate basis, STEM integrates children into a more cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications of the subjects.

The emphasis is on fun, yet we inspire learning about concepts through dialogue and questioning.

Monday 26 March: Robotics Easter Challenge 1

Children will be introduced to the Lego Mindstorms EV3 software and the fundamentals of robot navigation. They will then be expected to work together as a team to complete a number of different challenges.

Tuesday 27 March: The Natural World (Mathematics)

There are many examples of mathematics in nature, and children will gain an insight into these examples. Children will learn, and participate, in activities on fractals, Fibonacci sequence and more.

Wednesday 28 March: Simple Machines

This session is anything but simple as children will be learning about the role that machines play in our everyday life. We will be covering areas such as moments, levers, pulleys and more.

Thursday 29 March: Geotechnical Engineering

Geotechnical Engineering is a branch of engineering that is concerned with the behaviour of the Earth and its materials. This session will cover a wide range of topics including soil mechanics, foundations and more.
