STEM is the acronym used for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
STEM education is based on the idea of educating children in four specific subjects in an interdisciplinary and applied approach. Rather than teaching the four disciplines on a separate basis, STEM integrates children into a more cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications of the subjects.
The emphasis is on fun, yet we inspire learning about concepts through dialogue and questioning.

Monday 17 December: Solid Structures
Solid structures will introduce children to the wide range of materials used in construction, such as timber. This session will culminate in children being set the challenge of constructing their own igloo.
Tuesday 18 December: Christmas Robotics Challenge
Using a variety of different sensors and motors, children will be tasked with transporting an urgent delivery of Christmas presents to its required destination. They must apply their mathematical skills to programme the robot effectively.
Wednesday 19 December: Christmas Coding
This session will challenge children to put their knowledge of Python to use as they are set a number of different tasks and activities with a Christmas twist.
Thursday 20 December: Motors and Electricity
This science and mathematics session has been designed to teach children the principals of electricity and introduce them to the mathematical formulas used to calculate current, voltage and resistance.
Friday 21 December: Entrepreneurial Engineering
Having been introduced to the design process that many entrepreneurs have faced as part of their careers, children will be tasked with designing and building a new product to be used during Christmas time. This could include a new toy, for instance.
