About this camp: This face-to-face camp has been designed for children to enjoy, have fun and learn. Our face-to-face Science summer camp groups are small to enable tutors and children greater scope for interaction, dialogue, questions and answers. We motivate students to develop their understanding of science while having fun. We stimulate children to interact with scientists and science and biomedical science students and questions about what is like to study science at university level and what is like to work as a scientist. We teach students to learn how to identify a problem and look for a solution. We also foster the development of resilience. Sometimes, some children tend to give up easily. Therefore, we teach children that they need to try for alternate solutions to a given problem.

What we teach: We encourage children to learn and discuss in-depth science facts and concepts. We also motivate children to have a good understanding of biology, chemistry and physics and the way science impact our day to day lives. Children work on activities to develop problem-solving skills, teamwork and resilience.

Topics include: Eye see you, Metals Matter, Totally Tropical, Separating Mixtures, Lights and Lasers, Fluorescent Chemistry, Film Star Science, Energy Stores and Transfers, Carbon Chemistry, A Little Birdie Told Me…,   Fizzy Chemistry, Mighty Magnetism, Let’s Circulate, Nutrition and Excretion, Amazing Aeronautics, Radical Rockets, Don’t Talk Rubbish, Royal Science, The Botanical World, The Neurotic Brain, Mission to Mars, Fairground Science, Brilliant Bubbles, We Teach This Periodically, Something Fishy, Bones of Steel, The Centre of the Cell, Ceramics and Composites, Potentially Different, It’s a Catastrophe!, Geological Science, Prehistoric Science, World in Motion, Wonderful Water, In the Night Sky, Polymer Science, Healthy Homeostasis, Toy Town, It’s Evolving, Problem-Solving Science, Mighty Meteorology, Give Us a Wave, It’s in the Genes, Climate Change, Sports Science.
