Monday 8 July: The Astronaut World
Astronauts must be put through rigorous training before they are deemed fit enough to travel to space. In this session, your child will participate in a range of activities that look at dexterity, communication, food stuff and more that are essential for astronauts to master.
Tuesday 9 July: Rock On
Rock on goes into the detail of rocks, rock types and the rock cycle. Children will learn about the differences between sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic rocks, the stages of the rock cycle and more. Children will examine real rocks and make model volcanoes.
Wednesday 10 July: Give us a Wave
Waves are essential for communication. Mobile phones, satellites and radios are all able to communicate as a result of travelling waves. In this session, your child will learn about sound waves, radio waves and the electromagnetic spectrum through a variety of hands-on experiments.
Thursday 11 July: Ancient Egyptian Science
The Ancient Egyptians are renowned for their pyramids, mummies and hieroglyphics. In this history and science-based session, your child will participate in experiments on mummification, pyramid construction and more.
Friday 12 July: Entomology
Entomologists are scientists who study insects. Children will learn about the different types of insects including their structure and function. Children will examine samples under the microscope, perform a dissection and model an insect.
