Monday 1 July: Rocket Science
Our science camp commences with an explosive look at rockets, rocket science and aviation. Children will learn about how airplanes and rockets make the journey into the sky and will create both air-powered and water-powered rockets to launch.
Tuesday 2 July: Zoology
Zoology is the scientific study of animals. Children will learn about the anatomy, physiology and behaviour of a select group of animals. In this session, your child will have a unique opportunity to dissect a fish, examine real animal skulls and construct a paper frog.
Wednesday 3 July: Carbon Chemistry
Carbon is a fundamental element that is essential to life. Carbon dioxide, carbohydrates, fats and methane are all composed of carbon. In this session children will build model carbon molecules and participate in a wide range of experiments that involve carbon.
Thursday 4 July: The Heart and Lungs
The heart and lungs are two essential organs responsible for pumping blood around the body and oxygenating the blood respectively. In this session, your child will participate in a heart and lung dissection and construct models of the heart.
Friday 5 July: Meteorology
Meteorology is the study of weather processes and forecasting. Children will learn about tsunamis, clouds, tornadoes, El Nino and erosion. Your child will take an active role in recreating various different weather phenomena.
