Resources for the session: Children will need to have access to stationery, including pens or pencils and paper, a lab coat and safety glasses.
Non-contact registration and dismissal procedure: Children are registered and dismissed using our exclusive non-contact Security code system. Our registration and dismissal process takes place outside the venue. No exceptions.
The importance of learning science at a young age: Science is certainly a very fascinating subject to learn as it stimulates children’s curiosity about nature and about what constantly occurs in our lives. Science also fosters children understanding of how things work. For instance, the human body, the universe, plants, energy, electricity among many other topics. As children grow up in an increasingly technologically and scientifically advanced world, they need to be scientifically literate to succeed. Children benefit from learning how to think logically, how to solve problems and make informed decisions.
About this course: This face-to-face Saturday course has been designed for children to enjoy, have fun and learn. Our face-to-face autumn courses are small to enable tutors and children greater scope for interaction, dialogue, questions and answers. We motivate children to develop their understanding of science while having fun. We also stimulate children to be creative. We teach children to learn how to identify a problem and look for a solution.
What we teach: We encourage children to learn and discuss in-depth science facts and concepts. We also motivate children to have a good understanding of biology, chemistry and physics and the way science impact our day to day lives. Children work on activities to develop problem-solving skills, teamwork and resilience.
Academic impact: Undoubtedly, there is a direct academic impact as a result of attending weekend science classes. The first noticeable impact on children is how learning science is an enjoyable experience and the one that the children will remember for a lifetime. during and after attending face-to-face weekend courses, children tend to perceive that science is a ‘live’ subject that does not necessarily need to be learned from textbooks all the time. Children also benefit from experiencing what is like to work in a science laboratory.
Differentiation: At Richer Education, we understand that ‘one size does not fit all‘. Therefore, our tutors and mentors differentiate the content of our sessions. We ensure that all children, regardless of their level of knowledge, are engaged at the appropriate level and pace.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR IMPACT: THE DEVELOPMENT OF SKILLS FOR LIFE
Children certainly benefit from attending science extra-curricular (enrichment) science as we constantly instil and sustain the development of skills for life. From experience, we observe that over time, many children tend to develop a good attitude towards science. Children develop universally applicable problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Children also develop other significant skills such as teamwork, resilience, self-learning, presentation skills and self-confidence.
