Saturday 21st April: The Chemical World
In the chemical world, children will be learning about a range of different concepts based around chemistry, this will include atoms, bonding, chemical reactions and more. Children will learn about the chemical properties of hair gel, nappies and polystyrene. They will also witness and take part in making elephant’s toothpaste.
Sunday 22nd April: Toy Town
Make no mistake, toy town is more than just fun and games. Children will be learning about the application of science in the design and construction of toys. This session will introduce children to terms such as the centre of gravity and the conservation of energy. Groups will be involved in activities such as building a wobble toy, yoyo and a foosball game. Working effectively as a team is an imperative part of this session.

Parents will receive a confirmation letter with details about the workshop such as meeting point, timings, lunch and snack arrangements as well as other relevant details for the day.

Arrival and registration 2:30 pm (late arrivals will not be admitted)
Session 1 2:45pm – 4:15pm
Session 2 4:15pm – 5:15pm
Break 5:15 pm – 5:45 pm (children must bring their lunch, snacks and drinks)
Session 3 5:45pm – 7:45pm
Arrival and registration 10:00 am (late arrivals will not be admitted)
Session 1 10:15am – 11:45am
Session 2 11:45am – 1:15pm
Break 1:15 pm – 1:45 pm (children must bring their lunch, snacks and drinks)
Session 3 1:45pm – 3:30pm
Parents must arrive in time to register 15 minutes before the start of the session.
Richer Education works to strict adult/child ratio. Our standard ratio is 1:15.
We will be providing activities for children for them to analyse, evaluate, ask questions and use their imagination. Activities are varied in their content and pace; so that the children have an opportunity to use a variety of skills and learning styles. Activities should provide the children with challenge and, most importantly, fun.
Our tutors are police checked to ensure we meet the requirements of our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies.
Richer Education has carried out risk assessments for all the activities in accordance with our Health and Safety Policy. As standard practice, Richer Education carries out a general risk assessment for the venue and general activities such as lunch and parking.
