About this camp: This virtual STEAM Sunday course has been designed for children to enjoy, have fun and learn. Our STEAM Sunday groups are small to enable tutors and children greater scope for interaction, dialogue, questions and answers. We motivate children to develop their understanding of science while having fun. We also stimulate children to be creative. We teach children to learn how to identify a problem and look for a solution. We foster the development of resilience. Sometimes, some children tend to give up easily. We teach campers that they need to try for alternate solutions to a given problem.

What we teach: We encourage children to learn, consolidate and expand their knowledge in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. We focus on children building their capacity to communicate confidently and effectively. How to use and adapt science language to specific real-life contexts. We also focus on teaching STEAM within a cultural context. Children work on activities to develop problem-solving skills, teamwork and resilience.

Topics include: coding with Python, materials, city planning, transportation, chemistry, the property of water and ice chemical bonding, programming robots, learning about trains, roads, highways, underground systems and transport networks.

Differentiation: At Richer Education, we understand that ‘one size does not fit all‘. Therefore, our tutors and mentors differentiate the content of our sessions. We ensure that all children, regardless of their level of knowledge, are engaged at the appropriate level and pace.
