STEAM is the acronym used for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics.
STEAM education is based on educating children in five specific subjects in an interdisciplinary and applied approach, rather than teaching the five disciplines on a separate basis, STEAM integrates children into a more cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications of the subjects.
The emphasis is on fun, yet we inspire learning about concepts through dialogue and questioning.

Monday 26 October: Scare Factor
Our opening day in the STEAM camp focuses on the brain and nervous system and its role in the perception of fear. In today’s session, your child will dissect a brain and eye ball, and make polymer worms. Children will learn about the different parts of the brain and the different types of neurons amongst other things.
Tuesday 27 October: Ghostly Engineering
Ghostly engineering focuses on the design and construction of buildings and structures. Children will be tasked with building a haunted house, a creaky bridge and a pumpkin highway. Children will learn about the forces which act on structures and will be expected to calculate the amount of stress that can be applied on a bridge.
Wednesday 28 October: Creepy Coding
Using Python as the coding language, children will focus on the fundamentals of Python before progressing to coding their own creepy adventure. Children will also code a scary quiz and will create spooky images using the Microsoft visual studio package.
Thursday 29 October: Historical Fear
In this history and science-themed day, children will discover events of the past, present and future that instil fear in people. Children will learn about the hysteria surrounding witches, the bubonic plague, ghost hunting and zombie outbreaks. This session will include a rat dissection.
Friday 30 October: Terrifying Electricity
In terrifying electricity, children will discover the science and engineering behind electricity and magnetism. Your child will learn about current. Voltage, resistance and the role of electrons. Children will construct their own electric circuits, witness a Van der Graaff generator and make magnetic slime.
\We offer 10% siblings discount (from your second child onwards).
