Product Description

STEM is the acronym used for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

STEM education is based on the idea of educating children in four specific subjects in an interdisciplinary and applied approach. Rather than teaching the four disciplines on a separate basis, STEM integrates children into a more cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications of the subjects.

The emphasis is on fun, yet we inspire learning about concepts through dialogue and questioning.

***PLEASE NOTE THAT TOPICS AND/OR THE ORDER OF TOPICS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE***

Monday 15 April: Feats of Engineering

This week of the STEM Camp commences with a look at the engineering feats of ancient empires. Children will uncover the design process and engineering principles governing structures such as the great pyramids of Giza, the Coliseum and more.

In this history and mathematics-themed session, children will learn and discover how ancient civilisations such as the Babylonians and Mayans used symbols to represent numbers. Children will also learn how mathematics was used in their everyday life.
