Tuesday 14 April: The Chemistry Collective
In our opening session of the week, your child be equipped with safety glasses and gloves as they participate in a medley of chemistry-based experiments. Children will model how the stomach works, grow crystals, make a bath bomb and make snot slime. Children will learn about crystallisation, neutralisation and polymerisation.
Wednesday 15 April: Feel the Force
Forces include gravity, air resistance and friction. In this session, your child will make a parachute to safely land an egg to the ground, make a centre of gravity toy and investigate centripetal force and many more.
Thursday 16 April: Smart Science
Smart materials are of increasing use in science and beyond. In this experiment, your child will participate in experiments that change colour, shape or size and, in many cases, return to their original condition. In this session, children will use thermo colour sheets, polymorph and paint that changes colour according to temperature or moisture.
Friday 17 April: Creepy Crawlies
In this insect-based session, children will learn about the behaviour, anatomy and physiology of insects and other similar invertebrates. Children will dissect a real locust, make a chromatography butterfly and learn about the life cycle of insects.
