***FACE-TO-FACE INTERVIEW SKILLS SATURDAY COURSE WITH BRAND NEW TOPICS, PROJECTS AND DISCUSSIONS***
Frequency: Weekly.
Time: From 9:30 am until 11:30 am.
Location: The Hampshire School. 15 Manresa Road. Chelsea. SW3 6NB. Please arrive at 9:25 am.
Tutor-Child Ratio: 1:8 (strictly minimum 3 children, maximum 8 children). We will offer you an alternative course if the course is fully booked or if the course does not open.
Resources for the session: Children will need to have access to stationery, including pens or pencils and paper.
Non-contact registration and dismissal procedure: Children are registered and dismissed using our exclusive non-contact Security code system.
What are interview skills? Interview skills incorporate a variety of intrapersonal and interpersonal skills to best prepare your child for an interview.
What is the purpose of interview skills? Being prepared for an interview does not involve memorising answers and recalling information. Rather, it involves taking into consideration the role of the interviewer, the importance of non-verbal communication, being as attentive and natural as possible in an interview setting. In many cases, people feel that the interview is an oral examination whereby children must memorise the answers to potential questions. This course dispels this misconception. Children are guided through the interview process by taking into account their strengths and contributions to the school environment and how to be mentally and emotionally prepared.
Benefits of attending interview skills: This course will encourage children to enjoy and flourish at an interview. Children are taught the value of being confident and developing a rapport with the interviewer through dialogue and discussion. Children are guided through techniques to be mentally prepared and enhance their own growth mindset. Interview skills develop children’s ideas into detailed answers.
About this course: This course has been designed for children to enjoy, have fun and learn. Our face-to-face weekend courses are small. The rationale behind having small groups is to enable tutors and children greater scope for interaction, dialogue, questions and answers. We also stimulate children to be creative. We teach children to learn how to identify a problem and look for a solution. We also foster the development of resilience. Sometimes, some children tend to give up easily. We teach children that they need to try for alternate solutions to a given problem in a logical and creative way.
What we teach: The aim and purpose of interviews. The importance of being yourself in an interview. Pre-empting questions. How to begin and end an interview. The value of body language. Children work on activities to develop problem-solving skills, teamwork and resilience.
Differentiation: At Richer Education, we understand that ‘one size does not fit all‘. Therefore, our tutors and mentors differentiate the content of our sessions. We ensure that all children, regardless of their level of knowledge, are engaged at the appropriate level and pace.
Our 2021 calendar will be updated and published on 1 March 2021 according to the government guidelines at the time.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR IMPACT: THE DEVELOPMENT OF SKILLS FOR LIFE
Parents typically enrol their children in this course for two reasons. Primarily parents want their children to realise that mathematics and science can be used and applied in real-life situations, well beyond the school textbooks. The second reason is to get children to develop problem-solving skills, teamwork and resilience.
The emphasis is on fun, yet we inspire learning about concepts through dialogue and questioning.
