The emphasis is on fun, yet we inspire learning about concepts through dialogue and questioning.

We will be offering brand new programmes for each week in summer.

***PLEASE NOTE THAT TOPICS AND/OR THE ORDER OF THE TOPICS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE***

Monday 29 July: Leadership

Leadership is a desirable skill to possess. In this session, your child will learn about the art of good leadership and what being a leader entails. They will adopt the role of a director, president and manager tasked with leading a team of people.

Tuesday 30 July: Historical Writing

In this session, your child will practise their writing from a historical perspective. They will recreate historical events in a team and produce a live action report. Children will also read and analyse texts from the past to identify how writing has evolved and why.

Wednesday 31 July: Analysing Texts

Using a plethora of different formats, children will analyse different texts to identify writing styles. They must read, analyse and discuss the most effective strategies used and will progress to writing their own text which will be analysed by their peers.

Thursday 1 August: Decision-making

In this session, children will be introduced to the art of decision-making. They will participate in panel discussions and debates as they decide which prisoners will be released from prison by granting clemency.

Friday 2 August: Banning Genetically Modified Foods

Children will be introduced to the various roles in the debating chamber and the structure of a formal debate. The metaphor of the cake will help develop the debate with alternating layers piled up. However, it also relates to food, and children will debate GMFs (genetically modified foods) as this session’s key topic.
