Monday 6 April: The Space Race

The Space Race refers to the competition between American and Soviet scientists to be the first to send a man on the moon or launch a satellite into space. In this session, your child will be put through their paces as an astronaut. Children will perform tasks looking at dexterity, working in a confined space and analysing samples. The day will culminate in a rocket launch.

Tuesday 7 April: Keeping Warm, Staying Cool

Many science experiments either release or take in heat energy. In this session, children will be looking into endothermic and exothermic reactions. Children will make a handwarmer, investigate how ice packs work and will measure temperature changes in neutralisation and other chemical reactions.

Wednesday 8 April: The Science of Eggs

In this chemistry and physics-based session, children will be learning about the structure of eggs, the chemical properties of eggshells and the centre of gravity. Children will make their own wobble toy, dissolve an eggshell in vinegar and many more egg-citing egg-xperiments!

Thursday 9 April: The Science Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter eggs have been stolen and we need your help. Your child will work as a team to help solve the crime and recover the stolen Easter eggs. Children will participate in finger print analysis, handwriting analysis and different chemical techniques. The day will culminate in an Easter egg hunt for children.
