***FACE-TO-FACE INTEGRATED TECHNOLOGY SUMMER CAMP WITH BRAND NEW TOPICS, PROJECTS, EXPERIMENTS AND DISCUSSIONS***

Time: From 9:15 am until 3:15 pm for children aged 9-14.

Location: SCI. 14-15 Belgrave Square. Belgravia. SW1X 8PS.

Joining instructions:  We send our joining instructions 48 hours before the first day of the camp (normally at 5:00 pm on the Saturday before the first day of the camp). We encourage you to read and follow our instructions carefully as it contains important information on our registration and dismissal procedures, as well as, relevant information in line with government COVID-19 Health & Safety regulations and advice.

Tutor-Child Ratio: 1:12 (minimum 6 children, maximum 12 children).

Groups: Children are organised into groups according to their age and level of knowledge.

Resources for the session: Children will need to have access to stationery, including pens or pencils and paper.

About this camp: This face-to-face camp has been designed for children to enjoy, have fun and learn. Our face-to-face Integrated Technology camps (Robotics-Mechatronics-Python) are small to enable tutors and children greater scope for interaction, dialogue, questions and answers. We motivate children to develop their, coding, programming, mathematical and scientific skills while having fun. We also stimulate children to be creative. We teach children to learn how to identify a problem and look for a solution. Sometimes, some children tend to give up easily. Therefore, we teach children that they need to try for alternate solutions to a given problem.

What we teach: Learn and consolidate fundamental concepts and key vocabulary related to coding and programming. We encourage children to explore how the use of programming, coding and mechanical engineering are applied in real-life situations. We encourage children to understand how computer science works and how computer science impacts our daily lives. We also motivate children to develop problem-solving skills, teamwork and resilience.

Topics include: Robot Navigation, Writing a Quiz, Hands-on with Electronics, The Micro:bit, Lifting and Placing Objects, Sensors, Actuators and Microcontrollers, Graphs and Patterns with Turtle, Systems of Measurement, Conversions Using Python, Robot: The Touch Sensor, Writing a game, Robot: Infrared Remote, Autonomous Car Construction Part 1, Autonomous Car Construction Part 2, The Vampire Car, The Golf Bot, Dragon Realm, The LCD Screen, Robot: The Colour Sensor, Robot: Rainbow Challenge, Robot: The Driving Challenge, Writing a Simple Website, A Smart App for a Receptionist, Light and Force Sensors, The ArtBot, The Room Bot, Pick and Place Challenge, Statistics Using Python, Spaceship Interface, Robot: Colour Race, Robot: The Ultrasound Sensor, Playing with Numbers, Flexible Shopping Basket, Power Sources, The Micro:bit and Business.
