Product Description

The emphasis is on fun, yet we inspire learning about concepts through dialogue and questioning.
We will be offering brand new programmes for each week in summer.

***PLEASE NOTE THAT TOPICS AND/OR THE ORDER OF THE TOPICS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE***

Monday 15 July: A Sensor Tilt Machine

In this session, children will use a combination of Python and the Microbit to write a program that is uploaded onto a Microbit circuit board. They will be creating a tilt- based remote-control which is able to detect when a player leans left, forward, right or back.

Tuesday 16 July: The Robot Dance Challenge

Using Lego Mindstorms EV3, children will learn about the software and hardware components of EV3 before progressing to programming their robot to dance in a synchronised manner with other robots.

Wednesday 17 July: Let’s Learn Morse Code

Morse code is a system of communication using dots and dashes. In this session, your child will assemble a circuit with LEDs and resistors on their breadboard before programming their LEDs to light up using Arduino.

Thursday 18 July: Create a Quiz

Using Python as our coding language, we will reinforce the fundamentals of Python before progressing to children writing their own quiz. Children can develop their quiz by adding scores, multiple choice questions and more.

Friday 19 July: The Infrared Sensor

In this robotics-themed session, children will be briefed on infra-red radiation before learning about the role of an infra-red sensor in robotics. Children will be set a series of challenges such as measuring distance using the infrared sensor.
