    ABOUT THIS CAMP

This face-to-face camp has been designed for students to enjoy, have fun and learn. Our face-to-face Pre-Dentistry summer camp groups are small to enable tutors and students greater scope for interaction, dialogue, questions and answers. We motivate students to develop their understanding of dentistry while having fun. We stimulate students to interact with dentists and dental students and question about what is like to study dentistry and to be a dentist. We teach students to learn how to identify a problem and look for a solution. We also foster the development of resilience. Sometimes, some students tend to give up easily. We teach students that they need to try for alternate solutions to a given problem.

    WHAT WE TEACH

We encourage students to learn and discuss in-depth science facts and concepts. We also motivate students to have a good understanding of biomedical sciences, pathology and microbiology and the way dentistry impacts our day to day lives. Students work on activities to develop problem-solving skills, teamwork and resilience. Students learn the subjects common to medicine and dentistry and the implication of these on dental and oral health.

    TOPICS INCLUDE

Head and neck anatomy, craniofacial biology, restorative dentistry, tooth morphology, forensic odontology, radiology, surgical skills, clinical skills, oral medicine, microbiology, prosthodontology, pathology, dental public health, professional identity, disease and cancer

    DIFFERENTIATION

At Richer Education, we understand that ‘one size does not fit all‘. Therefore, our tutors and mentors differentiate the content of our sessions. We ensure that all children, regardless of their level of knowledge, are engaged at the appropriate level and pace.
