FACE-TO-FACE ADVANCED SCIENCE SUMMER CAMPS FOR CHILDREN AGED 9-11 AND 12-14.***BRAND NEW TOPICS, TASKS AND DISCUSSIONS***

Time: From 9:15 am until 3:15 pm for children aged 9-11 or 12-14.

Age: Strictly for children aged 9 or older. Proof of age is required. No exceptions.

Location: (Click on the address of your choice to see a map. Locations vary in the last two weeks of August):

• Skempton Building. Imperial College Road. SW7 2BB (From Monday 4 July until Friday 12 August 2022).
• The Hampshire School. 15 Manresa Road. Chelsea. SW3 6NB (From Monday 15 August until Friday 26 August 2022).

Joining instructions:  We send our joining instructions 48 hours before the first day of the camp (normally at 5:00 pm on the Saturday before the first day of the camp). We encourage you to read and follow our instructions carefully as it contains important information on our registration and dismissal procedures, as well as, relevant information in line with government COVID-19 Health & Safety regulations and advice.

Tutor-Child Ratio: 1:12 (strictly minimum 6 children, maximum 12 children). We will offer you an alternative course if the course is fully booked or if the course does not open or if at any time,  for any reason during the camp, there are fewer than six children enrolled until the end of the camp.

Groups: Children are organised in groups according to their age and level of knowledge.

Resources for the session: We will provide the necessary specialised equipment for children to use during the camp.

About this camp: This face-to-face camp has been designed for children to enjoy, have fun and learn. Our face-to-face Advanced Science summer camps groups are small to enable tutors and children greater scope for interaction, dialogue, questions and answers. We motivate students to develop their understanding of science while having fun. Likewise, we stimulate children to interact with scientists and science and biomedical science students and questions about what is like to study science at university level and what is like to work as a scientist. We teach students to learn how to identify a problem and look for a solution. We also foster the development of resilience. Sometimes, some children tend to give up easily. Therefore, we teach children that they need to try for alternate solutions to a given problem.

What we teach: We encourage children to learn and discuss in-depth science facts and concepts. We also motivate children to have a good understanding of biology, chemistry and physics and the way science impact our day to day lives. Children work on activities to develop problem-solving skills, teamwork and resilience.

Differentiation: At Richer Education, we understand that ‘one size does not fit all‘. Therefore, our tutors and mentors differentiate the content of our sessions. We ensure that all children, regardless of their level of knowledge, are engaged at the appropriate level and pace.
