***FACE-TO-FACE ENGINEERING SATURDAY COURSE WITH BRAND NEW TOPICS, PROJECTS AND DISCUSSIONS***
Frequency: Every Saturday.
Attendance: Children are expected to attend on a weekly basis (rollover sessions are available in line with the selected package).
Time: From 2:30 pm until 4:30 pm.
Location: SCI. 14 Belgrave Square. Belgravia. SW1X 8PS.
Tutor-Child Ratio: 1:12 (strictly minimum 5 children, maximum 12 children). We will offer you an alternative course if the course is fully booked or if the course does not open or if at any time, for any reason during the term, there are fewer than five children enrolled until the end of the term.
Resources for the session: Children will need to have access to stationery, including pens or pencils and paper. We provide all resources.
Non-contact registration and dismissal procedure: Children are registered and dismissed using our exclusive non-contact security code system.
The importance of learning Engineering at a young age: Learning engineering allows children to apply their existing mathematical and scientific knowledge in a more practical way. Children also learn how to question and elaborate answers to common problems they may encounter. Learning engineering at a young age also helps children to learn how to see the real-life word from a different perspective. Engineering would definitely help children to interact with mathematics and science in a more meaningful manner that children would find easier to relate in their day to day lives.
About this course: This course has been designed for children to enjoy, have fun and learn. Our face-to-face classes are small to enable tutors and children greater scope for interaction, dialogue, questions and answers. We motivate children to develop their engineering and mathematical skills while having fun. We also stimulate children to be creative. We teach children to learn how to identify a problem and look for a solution. We foster the development of resilience. Sometimes, some children tend to give up easily. We teach children that they need to try for alternate solutions to a given problem.
What we teach: Learn and consolidate fundamental mathematical principles and how mathematics also relates to real-life situations. We explore civil engineering, mechanical, engineering, railway engineering, structural engineering and other fields within engineering and its application in our day to day lives. We also motivate children to develop problem-solving skills, teamwork and resilience.
Academic impact: Engineering supports children to consistently develop and improve their mathematical and scientific skills. For instance, children move away from the textbooks to solve equations, calculate rotations and gradients when developing their own projects. Likewise, children make use of the existing scientific knowledge to plan new projects. Children learn about the natural world of science when working on civil engineering projects or they might learn about the physics behind pulleys, boring tunnels and many other activities.
Differentiation: At Richer Education, we understand that ‘one size does not fit all‘. Therefore, our tutors and mentors differentiate the content of our sessions. We ensure that all children, regardless of their level of knowledge, are engaged at the appropriate level and pace.

IN THIS COURSE, CHILDREN WILL:
- Learn and consolidate fundamental principles of engineering
- Apply existing mathematical knowledge within a given context
- Understand how engineering works and its influence in modern life
- Work on practical activities such as working on their own projects
- Develop problem-solving skills, teamwork and resilience
EXTRA-CURRICULAR IMPACT: THE DEVELOPMENT OF SKILLS FOR LIFE
Parents typically enrol their children in this course for two reasons. Primarily parents want their children to realise that mathematics and science can be used and applied in real-life situations, beyond the school textbooks. The second reason is to get children to develop problem-solving skills, teamwork and resilience. The emphasis is on fun, yet we inspire learning about concepts through dialogue and questioning.
